  1. love my sony laptop so far received it this morning and spent a few hours with. love the fact that it didn’t come with annoying cd’s to download software everything can be done at the touch of a button. it’s a beautiful piece more than i expected wide screen and love the keypad cos they r not sticky plus the matte mouse is great wouldn’t leave fingerprints n so far windows 7 is great. haven’t tried the bluray dvd player yet but i hope it’s fantastic too. love the silver finish very classy, would recommend sony to anyone plus i got a really good deal on amazon $699 i have been looking at this laptop for over a month now was $749 on circuit circuit and finally dropped to $699 on both amazon and circuit city but amazon had free shipping and no taxes.

I bought this laptop about 6 months ago, and am so glad that I did! I was hoping to spend $500-600, as I figured these days you can get somewhat of a decent comp for that price. I was looking at a Gateway with a 17″ screen, which I thought would be nice for my art and photography… But THEN I took a walk on the wild side to the nicer lineup of comp’s and saw this Sony. It is quiet (you dont even hear the fan running), fast, doesnt get hot, easy to type, amazing HD qualities, awesome windows 7, web startup with a press of a button, etc… I was very worried about spending $750 or so, when buying a MAC is only a few hundred dollars more. (I’m a MAC lover!)… But really, this is a great computer with everything that I need (and some). Dont settle for a crappy machine when for a little more you can have this reliable smooth Sony. Best Buy has an 18 month no-interest deal on their credit card, which I did. You wont be dissapointed…

My husband got me this for Valentine’s Day, and I’ve been thrilled! He’s a big techno-guy, so he was pretty picky about what he wanted the computer to handle. Its speed is great, screen clarity too. And it was a bonus to have the blu-ray palyer built in! Me? I was looking for a good size and weight that didn’t make me feel like I was dragging around a stone tablet from room to room. And I really like the textured touch pad. It doesn’t get sticky, and it responds smoothly. Of course, the Amazon price was nice, even after looking at the model at a big box store…. But mostly, it’s been a good choice for my everyday use.

  4. I bought this to replace a SonyFE model. I was pretty happy with the FE but wanted to upgrade to a new computer because I need better specs. Overall I am pleased with the NW model. I love the texture of the case and the silver color. Windows 7 is easy to navigate through once you get used to the change from XP. It is much faster that my older sony. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I prefer the old screen. It is much crisper and easier on the eyes. The Sony NW screen doesn’t seem as bright or maybe the contrast is off and almost looks faded compared to the FE model. I read somewhere that is is due to the technology differences behind the screens. We also recently purchased and HP610 and prefer the screen over the Sony. Side by side the HP Screen is much better. The speakers on both are not that great and it is difficult to listen to webinars. Thank goodness for earphones.

  5. I bought this laptop in Feb. I was in the market for my first laptop. I was interested in a machine with a HD display, so the Sony was a clear front runner. After a limited amount of search on the part of my employer who thinks of hi

self as a advanced computer user found this model. After I read the specs and seen that I could not only a HD display but a blu Ray player also, my search was over. Now that I had my eye on this model I spent the next two weeks reading every review possible. Outside of a couple of people who didn’t like the textured touch pad I could not find a bad review. When payday came around off to the store I went, and I am glad I did!!!! I like the laptop so much that a bought my wife the same model the first of may. I can say that this is one family that is 100 % satisfied.
